Social
A social app built around where people are
2gathr helps people discover and share with others nearby or anywhere in the world, based on location and interests. Its tagline says it in four words: “Like me. Near me.”

The idea
nCodeSystems came to us with an idea, not a prototype. Most social apps start from who you already know. 2gathr starts from where you are and what you care about, so you can find people, places, and conversations around you, or anywhere else on the map.
What the app does
- A live map of posts and conversations, from your street to the other side of the world
- Search by location, by topic and #tag, or both together
- Public chats to follow what's happening or start your own gathering
- Private one-to-one and group messaging
- Text, audio, and video posts tied to a place
What it took
We built the app, including the map. The platform already had what a location-based social app needs underneath: real-time messaging, live map updates delivered over that messaging, and a social feed service the app could plug straight into. That let the work go into the hard part, map performance: posts have to load fast as people pan and zoom, and busy areas have to group into clusters without hiding what is there.
2gathr is a custom app on the Fluxweave Platform. We built the app; accounts, messaging, the feed, media, and hosting come from the platform underneath, which we run. nCodeSystems owns its app and its data. See who owns what.
