Pricing and engagement
We'd rather price what the software does for you than the hours it takes. AI is making building faster, and that should work in your favor. So where we can, we agree on the outcome and fix the price. When the work is ongoing, you have a dedicated team. And if our platform already does what you need, you pay for usage.
Building something of your own
Every project is different, so there's no price list. Here's how we price the work, and we'll tell you which fits on the first call.
Outcome-based
When the scope is clear
We agree on the result, then fix the price. Modernizing an existing system is a good example. Most outcome-based work starts with a proof of concept or phase 1, also at a fixed price, sized to the project.
Best for
- New products and launches
- Modernization projects
- Well-defined feature sets
Dedicated team
When the work is ongoing
A senior team of engineers, designers, and QA that works as an extension of yours, with the same tools, standups, and goals, billed monthly. It covers new features, maintenance, and updates, and grows or shrinks with the work.
Best for
- Extending your in-house team
- Long-running work and post-launch iteration
- Maintenance and managed DevOps

Let's talk
Volume pricing
Prices in USD, per month. Launching an app also involves one-time services (setup, branding, publishing, and any custom features), scoped and priced before we start. On any plan, each additional white-label app adds $499/mo, with a one-time setup from $499. Enterprise is priced to fit your organization.
Every plan includes
- Named user accounts, profiles, and secure hosting of user data
- iOS, Android, and web
- Web-based administration
- Messaging, real-time chat, and push notifications
- Calendars, streams, and social features
- Form and screen builders, data trackers, and charts
- Group-based security and user privileges
- APIs and integrations with the systems you already use
- 24/7 monitoring, with support during business hours in US and Japan time zones
How we count users
Plans are priced by monthly active users: people who log in and use the app that month, once each no matter how many devices they use. Plans include spike protection. Named users who never log in aren't charged. Discounts are available for longer commitments and for non-profits.

Common questions
Fixed price or a dedicated team: which fits?
A fixed price fits when the scope is clear, such as replacing a process you already run. A dedicated team fits when the work is ongoing and priorities change, such as adding to an app you already run.
How do you price custom software?
Three ways. A fixed price when the scope is clear, a dedicated senior team billed monthly when the work is ongoing, and usage-based Managed Apps plans when our platform already does what you need. We'll tell you which fits on the first call.
Why is there no price list for custom work?
Every project is different. Instead, we agree on the result and fix the price before we start. Most of this work begins with a proof of concept or phase 1, also at a fixed price, sized to the project.
How do you count active users on a Managed Apps plan?
We count monthly active users: people who log in and use the app during the month, once each no matter how many devices they use. Named users who never log in aren't charged. Plans include spike protection. For example, an app with 420 monthly active users is on Startup at $499 a month.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long-term contract is required for Managed Apps plans. Discounts are available for longer commitments and for non-profits.
Is there a minimum for a dedicated team?
No. There is no minimum term or team size. The team grows or shrinks with the work, and you can scale it down when the work slows.
What does launching the first app involve?
The monthly plan, plus one-time launch services: setting up, branding, and publishing your app, and any custom features you need. We scope and price the launch before we start. The free assessment call is the place to size it.
What if we need more than one app?
On any plan, each additional white-label app adds $499/mo, with a one-time setup from $499. Enterprise is priced to fit your organization.
Who owns the software?
It depends on the model. With Managed, Fluxweave owns and runs the software, and you own your data, your customer relationships, and your brand. With Build, you own the code and the IP. See who owns what.
