Fixed price. Sized to your project.

Start with a fixed-price first step

We start with a proof of concept or a phase 1, at a fixed price. You get working software on the part that matters most, and we both learn what the full project really takes.

First, a free assessment

A free call with a senior lead. We hear what you're working on, tell you how we'd approach it, and recommend the right first step: a proof of concept or a phase 1.

Two ways to start

Proof of concept

When there's a question to answer first.

Will this approach work? Will your staff use it? Can it connect to what you run today? We build the piece of software that answers it.

Phase 1

When you already know what you need.

We build the part that matters most as the first phase of the full project. The next phase builds on it.

Not sure which fits? We'll recommend one when we talk.

What you get

  • Something you can try

Real software aimed at the part of the project that matters most, so you judge it by using it.

  • A fixed price, agreed up front

We agree on what it covers and what it costs before we start. Its size depends on your project.

  • A clear picture of the full project

What the rest would take, and which way of working fits it best.

  • Your call on what's next

If it's right, we carry on. If not, you've learned that from a small piece of work instead of a large one.

How it works

  1. A free assessment call

On a free call, we learn how your business works, and together we pick the first step: a proof of concept or phase 1.

  2. Agree

We define what the first step covers and fix the price.

  3. Build and decide

We build it, you and your staff try it, and you decide what comes next.

Who it's for

Businesses with a process that already works and a clear sense that software would make it more profitable and easier to scale. If you've had a quote that made you stop, this is a smaller first step.

Common questions

What's the difference between a proof of concept and phase 1?

A proof of concept answers a question before you commit to the project, such as whether an approach works or whether your staff will use it. Phase 1 is the first part of the full project, for when you already know what you need. Not sure which fits? We'll recommend one when we talk.

How much does the first step cost?

The price follows the scope, and the scope can be adjusted to fit your budget: we can start smaller and add more later. We don't publish a typical price because projects vary so much. On the free assessment call we'll give you a sense of it for yours, then agree on what the first step covers and fix the price before we start.

What do we have at the end of it?

Real software aimed at the part of the project that matters most, which you and your staff can try. You also get a clear picture of the full project: what the rest would take, and which way of working fits it best.

Do we have to continue with the full project?

No. What comes next is your call. If it's right, we carry on. If not, you've learned that from a small piece of work instead of a large one.

What do you need from us?

Time to walk us through how your business works and what the first step needs to do. Then people on your side to try it and tell us what they think.

Who builds it?

Senior engineers, with leads in Boston and Tokyo. Senior engineers review all code, including anything AI produces, before it ships.

What happens after the first step?

If you go ahead, we recommend the way of working that fits the rest. See pricing and engagement for the options, and how it works for how the project runs.
